Costa Brava Holidays

Costa Brava
Overview

Situated on the northeast coast of Spain, Costa Brava is the perfect choice for a week or two on the beach. Golden sands, tranquil coves, windswept cliffs and scenic seaside towns – Costa Brava holidays are truly spectacular. Probably the most scenic of all the Spanish Costas, Costa Brava enjoys Mediterranean weather, where summers see temperature in mid-twenties, making the warm sunny months of May and June the best time to visit.

With sun, sea, sand and Blue Flag beaches for safe swimming, holidays to the Costa Brava are ever popular with families. Costa Brava’s best-known resort is the buzzing Lloret de Mar, but this area also boasts lots of off-the-beaten-track beaches and little towns that ooze traditional Catalonian spirit, too. Even the larger resorts are home to picturesque ports, small fishing communities and pretty coves, so Costa Brava is a perfect destination for luxury holidays as well as more budget-friendly options.

Getting Around

You can touch down in Barcelona, but many Costa Brava-bound tourists land at Girona Airport. From here it’s easy to arrange private transfer or car hire to your resort. There are also a couple of bus companies who operate a transfer service. Most resorts are easy to get around on foot, although some places are hilly. Taxis are readily available and boat trips are a fun and popular way to explore.

Safra is the main bus operator in the area and it offers a clean, reliable service both in main towns like Barcelona and Girona and beach resorts like Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar and many more.

If you stick to the right, you shouldn’t have any issues driving on the well-maintained roads of the Costa Brava.

Unspoilt Beaches

Unspoilt Beaches

There are hundreds of unspoilt coves to discover along the Costa Brava.

From small crescents of golden sand to rocky coves offering amazing snorkeling, the choice is all yours. If you’re after tranquility, take a trip to the quaint Iberian village of Castell in Palamós and dive into its crystal waters. As evening approaches, head into Palamós for delicious locally caught prawns, or walk along the coastal path to Cala Estreta.

If you’re looking to discover more of Costa Brava’s amazing marine life and beaches, hop on board a glass-bottom boat for top views and top tanning! Decide on a tour that suits you and sail across the clear waters, soaking up the scenery as you go. If you’re up for a swim, there is plenty of time to stop and snorkel.
