Costa Brava Holidays
Situated on the northeast coast of Spain, Costa Brava is the perfect choice for a week or two on the beach. Getting Around
You can touch down in Barcelona, but many Costa Brava-bound tourists land at Girona Airport. From here it’s easy to arrange private transfer or car hire to your resort. There are also a couple of bus companies who operate a transfer service. Most resorts are easy to get around on foot, although some places are hilly. Taxis are readily available and boat trips are a fun and popular way to explore.
Safra is the main bus operator in the area and it offers a clean, reliable service both in main towns like Barcelona and Girona and beach resorts like Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar and many more.
If you stick to the right, you shouldn’t have any issues driving on the well-maintained roads of the Costa Brava.
Unspoilt Beaches
There are hundreds of unspoilt coves to discover along the Costa Brava.
From small crescents of golden sand to rocky coves offering amazing snorkeling, the choice is all yours. If you’re after tranquility, take a trip to the quaint Iberian village of Castell in Palamós and dive into its crystal waters. As evening approaches, head into Palamós for delicious locally caught prawns, or walk along the coastal path to Cala Estreta.
If you’re looking to discover more of Costa Brava’s amazing marine life and beaches, hop on board a glass-bottom boat for top views and top tanning! Decide on a tour that suits you and sail across the clear waters, soaking up the scenery as you go. If you’re up for a swim, there is plenty of time to stop and snorkel.
Splashtastic Fun
The Costa Brava is truly a paradise for waterpark enthusiasts.
Located near Lloret De Mar, Waterworld is a premier destination for waterpark lovers. What makes it even more convenient is the provision of free daily buses from Lloret De Mar and other nearby resorts.
Situated in Platja d'Aro, Aquadiver is another must-visit waterpark on the Costa Brava. This park caters to all ages, providing a wide range of attractions that cater to both adrenaline junkies seeking high-speed slides and younger children looking for playful water features.
Although slightly further away from the Costa Brava in the vicinity of Barcelona, Isla Fantasia is definitely worth the trip. This waterpark offers a fantastic day out for visitors of all ages. From thrilling slides and wave pools to relaxing areas and even a children's area, Isla Fantasia caters to everyone's preferences.
Day Trips
If you can drag yourself away from the golden sands, there are plenty of day trips to enjoy throughout the region.
The hilltop town of Begur is charmingly untouristy, with cobbled streets, Moorish homes and quirky bars. The medieval town, located a few miles from the coves of Aiguablava and Tamariu, is for pedestrians only. Climb up the crumbling castle for picturesque views of the coast.
Plenty of resorts on the Costa Brava are within day trip distance of the fantastic city of Barcelona, famous for the unique architecture of Gaudi. Whether you’re looking to wine and dine, visit must-see monuments or shop until you drop, Barcelona has it all.
Visit Empuries, the site of a once thriving Greek and later Roman town on the outskirts of the seaside city of L’Escala. The mosaic flooring of the mini-Pompei is still intact, besides the remains of an amphitheatre and Roman villa that are on show. Other historic sites include the megalithic settlement in Roses and monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes atop the Serra de Verdera mountain.

If you're in the mood to let loose and have a vibrant evening, you’ll have plenty of choice.
Lloret de Mar takes the crown as the ultimate destination for karaoke and clubs, providing holidaymakers with an energetic nightlife experience. In Lloret de Mar, you'll find a plethora of venues where you can showcase your singing skills and belt out your favourite tunes in lively karaoke bars.
